Dear Parishioners of OLOP:
As you know, we have previously announced that Our Lady of Purgatory Church will be reopening for limited public gathering at the Divine Liturgy beginning Saturday, May 30, 2020. In this web posting, please find OLOP Phase 1 Gathering Plan 200525 – Final. This plan sets forth the process and procedures that we will use to create the safest atmosphere we can as we reopen on a limited basis in Phase 1. I would like to thank all of the members of the OLOP Covid-19 Task Force for their counsel and collaboration in drafting this plan.
Over the course of the next three days I will be posting via the web copies of Frequently Asked Questions on various parts of the plan to assist you during Phase 1. In this web posting, please find the first of the FAQ Attending Divine Liturgy During Phase 1 200525 – Final. Please review this plan and these Frequently Asked Questions with the members of your household.
On Tuesday, May 26, 2020, I will be sending two Frequently Asked Question Handouts. The first will explain why it is so important to wear a mask or face covering while attending Divine Liturgy. The second will explain the process for making a reservation to attend one of the weekend Liturgies.
Beginning Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Noon, we will open up the online reservation process for the May 30 – 31 Weekend Liturgies. You will be able to access the online reservation program by visiting the Parish website at www.ourladyofpurgatory.org .
Pursuant to the Safer At Home Advisory issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, if you are 65 or over, or if you have a pre-existing medical condition, or if you cannot wear a mask or face covering due to a medical condition, we strongly encourage you to remain at home and continue to virtually participate in the Liturgy during Phase 1. We will continue to live stream the Divine Liturgy on Zoom, and now also on Facebook Live.
I look forward to the day when we can all once again gather to sing God’s praises at Our Lady of Purgatory Church. In the interim, I want to thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at (508) 996-8934.
In Christ,
Fr. Vince
